The 5 lessons of the pencil
In anything you do, you will always leave a mark;
What is important is what is inside of you, not outside;
You can always erase your mistakes and proceed again;
In life, you will experience sharpening to make you a better pencil;
Allow yourself to be held and used by your Creator unconditionally.
OUR DAILY BANK ACCOUNT
Imagine there is a bank which credits your account each morning with US$86,400, carries over no balance from day to day, allows you to keep no cash balance, and every evening cancels whatever part of the amount you had failed to use during the day.
What would you do?
Draw out every centavo, of course!
Well, everyone of us has such a bank. Its name is TIME
Every morning, it credits you with 86,400 seconds. Every night, it writes off, as lost whatever of this you have failed to invest to good purpose. It carries over no balance. It allows no overdraft.
Each day, it opens a new account for you. Each night it burns the records of the day. If you fail to use the day’s deposits, the loss is yours.
There is no going back. There is no drawing against the “tomorrow”. You must live in the present on today’s deposits. Invest it so as to get from it the utmost in health, happiness and success!
The clock is running. Make the most of today...
To realize the value of ONE YEAR

To realize the value of ONE MONTH
Ask a mother who has given birth to a pre-mature baby...
To realize the value of ONE WEEK
Ask an editor of a weekly newspaper...
To realize the value of ONE DAY
Ask a daily wage laborer who has ten kids to feed...
To realize the value of ONE HOUR
Ask the lovers who are waiting to meet or...
To realize the value of ONE MINUTE
Ask a person who has missed a train.
To realize the value of ONE SECOND
Ask a person who has survived an accident...
To realize the value of ONE MILLI-SECOND
Ask the person who has won a silver medal in the Olympics.
Treasure every moment that you have!
And treasure it more because you shared it with someone special...special enough to have your time.
And remember...time waits for no one
The Three Trees
I have kept this story since i was in high school. It has given me hope during the darkest of nights, reminding me that dark nights produce the brightest stars in the sky..tps
Once upon a mountain top, three little trees stood and dreamed of what they wanted to become when they grew up. The first little tree looked up at the stars and said, “I want to hold treasure. I want to be covered with gold and filled with precious stones. I’ll be the most beautiful treasure chest in the world!
The second little tree looked out at a small stream trickling by on its way to the ocean. “I want to travel mighty waters and carry the powerful kings. I’ll be the strongest ship in the world!
The third little tree looked down into the valley below where busy men and women worked in a busy town. “I don’t want to leave the mountain top at all. I want to grow so tall that when people stop to look at me, they will raise their eyes to heaven and think of God. I will be the tallest tree in the world!”
Years passed. The rains came, the sun shone, and the little trees grew tall. One day three woodcutters climbed the mountain. The first woodcutter looked at the first tree and said, “this tree is beautiful. It is perfect for me.” With a swoop of his shining axe, the first tree fell. “Now I shall be made into a beautiful chest and will hold beautiful treasure!” the first tree said.
The second woodcutter looked at the second tree and said, “This tree is strong. It is perfect for me. With a swoop of his shining axe, the second tree fell.” Now I shall sail mighty waters!” thought the second tree, “ I shall be a strong ship for mighty kings!”
The third tree felt her heart sink when the last woodcutter looked her way. She stood straight and tall and pointed bravely to heaven. But the woodcutter never even looked up. “Any kind of tree will do for me.” He muttered. He swung his axe, and the third tree fell.
The first tree rejoiced when the woodcutter brought her to a carpenter’s shop. But the carpenter fashioned the tree into a feed box for animals. The once beautiful tree was not covered with gold nor with treasure. She was coated with saw dust and filled with hay for hungry farm animals.
The second tree smiled when the woodcutter took her to a shipyard, but no mighty sailing ship was made that day. Instead the once strong tree was hammered and sawed into a simple fishing boat. She was too small and too weak to sail to an ocean, or even a river; instead she was taken to a little lake.
The third woodcutter didn’t build anything from the third tree; he just cut her into strong beams and left her in a lumberyard to be forgotten.
Many years passed. The three trees nearly forgot their dreams. But one night, golden starlight poured over the first tree as a young woman placed her newborn baby in the feedbox. “I wish I could make a cradle for him,” the father whispered. The mother squeezed his hand and smiled as the starlight shone on the smooth and sturdy wood. “This manger is beautiful,” she said. And suddenly the first tree knew she was holding the greatest treasure in the world.
One evening a tired traveller and his friends crowded into an old fishing boat by the lake. The traveller fell asleep as the second tree quietly sailed out into the lake. Soon a thundering and thrashing storm arose. The second little tree shuddered. She knew she did not have the strength to carry so many passengers safely through with the kind of wind and the pouring rain.
The tired man awakened. He stood up, stretched out his hand and said, “Peace, be calm” The storm stopped as quickly as it had begun. And suddenly, the second tree knew she was carrying someone greater than any mere king.
One Friday morning, the third tree was startled when her beams were yanked out from the forgotten woodpile. She flinched as she was carried through an angry, jeering crowd. She shuddered when soldiers nailed a man’s bloodied hand to her. She felt ugly and harsh and cruel.
But on Sunday morning, when the sun rose from the horizon and the earth trembled with joy beneath her, the third tree knew that God’s love for mankind had changed everything. The tree, which had been chopped down and forgotten was the cross where the king of heaven and earth died on so people all over the earth could have everlasting life.
So next time you feel down because you didn’t get what you wanted, sit tight and be at peace with the world, because God is thinking of something better to give you.
Love's Simple Truths
You can analyze and look for reasons and causes, but you will never do anymore than take the life out of the experience.
Love is more than the sum of interests and attractions and commonalities that two people share. And just as life itself is a gift that comes and goes in its time, the coming and going of love must be taken as an unfathomable gift that cannot be questioned in its ways..
Too often, when love comes to two people, they try to grasp the love and hold it to them, refusing to see that it is a gift given and a gift that just as freely moves away. When they fall out of love, or the person they love feels the spirit of love leaving, they try desperately to reclaim the love that is lost rather than accepting the gift for what it was.
Answers are wanted where there are none. To try to know what is wrong with them, or to get their love to change, thinking that if some small thing were different love would bloom again. Circumstances are blamed. Everything is done to give meaning to what has happened. But there is no meaning beyond the love itself, and until two people accept love's mysterious ways, they will live in a sea of misery.
You need to treat what love brings you with kindness. If you find yourself in love with someone who does not love you back, be gentle with yourself. There is nothing wrong with you. Love just didn't choose to rest in the other person's heart.
If you find someone else in love with you who you feel no love, feel honored that love came and called at your door, but gently refuse the gift you cannot return. Do not take advantage, nor cause pain.
How you deal with love is how love deals with you, and all your hearts feel the same pain and joys, even if our individual lives and ways are very different.
If you fall in love with another who falls in love with you, and then love chooses to leave, do not reclaim it or to assess blame. Let it go. There is a reason and there is a meaning. You will know it in time, but only time itself will choose the moment.
Remember this, and keep it in your heart. You don't choose love. Love chooses you. All you can really do is to accept it for all its mystery when it comes into your life. Feel the way it fills you to overflowing, then reach out and give it away. Give it back to the person who brought it to you. Give it to others who seems poor in spirit. Give it to the world around you in anyway you can.
Love has its own time, its own season, and its own reasons for coming and going. You cannot bribe it or coax it into staying. If it chooses to leave from your heart or from the heart of the one you love, there is nothing you can do and nothing you should do. Be glad that it came to live for a moment in your life. If you keep your heart opoen, it will surely come back again...
Cleaning Our Closets
Let us search the closets of our lives and make a trip to the wastebasket..
Throw away any hatred that may be lurking there and be sure to toss Jealousy, bad attitudes,
dishonesty, complaints, sin and hypocrisy.
Before you finish, throw away that grudge you have been holding against someone...
Now there's plenty of room with the chambers of your heart to add Love, honesty, forgiveness
and kindness, not to mention thankfulness for all of God's blessings.
Go on and make room for reverence and respect to God and parents.
God from whom all good and perfect gifts come;
parents for giving the gift of life and living.
Now stand back and take a look: Your life and heart's closets are looking better, isn't it?
Take a moment each day to spring clean your closets. Ask God to come in and if He finds anything else that shouldnt be there, take it out so that you can live freely and happily.
Why is a teardrop is so beautiful
"Well, I am the teardrop of the girl who won him."
Love is very strange. It is an unconditional commitment to an imperfect individual. You need it but when you love, it's like destining yourself for pain.
You become addicted and dependent on that person you love. You become strong and at the same time, you open yourself up to being hurt.
Love can make you bear any kind of pain and any kind of sacrifice. it can also make you feel stupid and act stupidly.
Sometimes, when you love and end up giving so much of yourself, subconsciously you only discover how much you have given up when the person you love hurt you or has to say goodbye. Then you realize, an important part of yourself is already with that person.
It goes away when that person leaves and you left with a sickening, empty feeling inside. Tears are bound to fall from your eyes no matter how you force yourself to keep them in.
Most teardrops shed on this earth have been for love or the lack of it.
When tears dry up, a silent loss sticks to your heart for a long, long time. Well, that's what you get for caring so much about someone.
But how can you regret it. To give yourself freely and lovingly is the most beautiful thing to do. Love makes you real.
Loving also makes you cry.
And that is why a teardrop is so beautiful...
One Day At A Time
One of these days is YESTERDAY with all its mistakes and cares, its faults and blunders, its aches and pains. Yesterday has passed forever beyond our control. All the money in the world cannot bring back yesterday. We cannot undo a single act we performed; we cannot erase a single word we said. Yesterday is gone forever.
The other day we should not worry about is TOMORROW. Tomorrow with all its possible adversities, its burdens, its large promise and its poor performance. Tomorrow is also beyond our immediate control.
Tomorrow's sun will rise, either in splendor or behind a mask of clouds, but it will rise. Until it does, we have no stake in Tomorrow, for it is yet to be born.
This leaves only one day: TODAY. Any person should fight only the battle of one day. It is when you and I add the burdens of those two awful eternities YESTERDAY and TOMORROW that we break down. It is not the experience of TODAY which drives a person to the brink of insanity; it is the remorse or bitterness of something which happened yesterday and the dread of what tomorrow will bring.
Let us, therefore, live but one day at a time. And while we are doing it, let us not forget to pause and smell the scent of a flower, the majesty of a dragonfly, the mystery of the caterpillar and the beauty of a butterfly...
